Construction
Construction volunteers are our most visible, popular, and numerous volunteer opportunity. No previous construction experience is required, although construction volunteers must be at least 16 years old (see age restriction policy). HFHSC does provide an assessment of your skills and offers various classes and clinics to train you in basic construction safety and skills. Construction volunteers work year round in dozens of different home-building areas like framing, drywalling, flooring, roofing, siding, and painting to just name a few! Please refer to Construction Volunteer Guidelines for detailed information.

Habitat Office
The Habitat office is the administrative hub of the organization. Volunteers help with reception, filing, mailings, data entry, and cleaning.

ReStore
The Habitat ReStore sells donated construction and home items at a discounted rate to benefit our community and to financially support the affiliate. There are daily volunteer opportunities at the ReStore through helping to organize, stock shelves, picking up and cleaning donations, and assisting customers.

Special Events
Habitat holds certain special events throughout the year to promote the vision and mission of HFHSC and to help meet the needs of upcoming building projects. Volunteers assist with event planning, promotion, greeting and registration, set up, tear down, and follow up.

Any questions, comments or concerns about your volunteer experience can be directed to HFHSC’s Volunteer Manager, Ryan Mobley at: volunteer@habitatsangamon.com or 217-523-2710.
